Monday, 1146 hours: I cut my lunch short today to blog on my weekly strategy. With the Twins loss there is a 3 to 4 hour loss of programming for the week. I received my cable on Saturday at noon, but due to my self-centered need to do yard work and sleep, I fell short of my 28 hour television viewing goal by only watching 25 hours. I will need to buckle down this week to try to get back on schedule.
Also, I attempted a couple of new shows to build up my television program catalogue. Some were positives and will stay on the list and some were negatives and must fall off. The new additions to the list are “It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia” and “Son’s of Anarchy.” These are two of the best shows I have ever seen. Unfortunately, after giving it a 2 episode run, “Glee” will be falling off the mandatory watch list. Taking its’ place this week will be “Two and a Half Men” and “30 Rock,” both also recommendations from fairly reliable people.
My mandatory watch list for this week is as follows:
Monday Night Football
How I met your mother
Two and a half men
Big Bang Theory
Hells Kitchen
The Biggest Loser
New Adventures of Old Christine
Gary Unmarried
Son’s of Anarchy
It’s Always Sunny In Philadelphia
The Ultimate Fighter
South Park
The Office
30 Rock
Bones
Vikings vs Ravens (Sun)
Wild vs Anaheim (Wed)
Wild vs Oilers (Fri)
Wild vs Canucks (Sat)
Foot ball - Gophers vs Penn State (2:30 on ABC)
Hockey - Gophers vs Grand Forks (Fri)
Hockey - Gophers vs Grand Forks (Sat)
Saturday Night Live
Sunday 3:00 Football Game
Sunday Night Football
I believe this week is the season finale for Hell’s Kitchen which will open up an additional 2 hours of programming for next week. Also, I need to document at shows that were missed and whether those shows were replaced with others. It is important that I don’t fall into the pool of syndication. This could be a great waste of time if I end up watching hours of old Seinfeld episodes. I would be losing the focus of what this is all about.
This week is going to be quite a challenge, but I feel that I am mentally and physically prepared for it. I must also view my 44 hour goal as merely a low threshold, and I need to be willing to take this project to the next level. As the saying goes, shot for the stars and you may hit the moon…
So stay tuned...
